Joseph Weber, Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor at University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Some of the most important moments in cancer care don’t happen within our clinic walls.
This week in Sheboygan, WI, more than 500 patients, survivors, families, and teammates came together for the Aurora’s Cancer Survivor’s Day picnic.
Survivorship isn’t just a milestone – it’s a community. It’s the people who show up for each other and the life that keeps moving forward after treatment.
As clinicians, we spend a lot of time focused on the details of care. Events like this pulls us back to the bigger picture and why the work matters in the first place.
Grateful to everyone who helped make this happen and to the patients and families who continue to shape how we deliver care every day.”
