“Ending the HIV epidemic means ensuring people have access to the latest scientific advances.
That path looks different in every part of the world.
Today, in partnership with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), countries across Latin America and the Caribbean will be able to access our twice-yearly HIV prevention option through PAHO’s Regional Revolving Funds.
It’s a new pathway for the region as part of the broader HIV response.
No single company, government or organization can do this alone.
Progress depends on partnerships that bring together public health organizations, governments, communities and industry to expand access and support implementation.
Thank you to Dr. Jarbas Barbosa da Silva Jr, our partners at PAHO, and the Gilead Sciences team who worked tirelessly to make this happen and moved with urgency every step of the way.
This agreement is not the finish line. It marks the start of the important work ahead to help countries translate innovation into access and impact for the people and communities who need it most.
