Joanna Metzner-Sadurski, President of Oncology101.org, Adjunct Professor at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, shared on LinkedIn:
“American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) a place to belong. A place to be heard. A place to feel welcomed, appreciated, and supported.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve on ASCO’s Health Policy Committee and help bring the voices of our rural patients into national conversations. Their experiences, challenges, and hopes deserve to be heard. As a community oncologist, it means so much to feel that the perspectives we bring from our patients and communities are valued.
I also appreciate ASCO’s advocacy team and the ASCO Association PAC for strengthening our collective voice for patients. Improving access to care, reforming prior authorization and pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) practices, and supporting NIH cancer research funding are priorities that matter to the people we care for every day.
We need to keep searching for cures. We also need to make sure our patients can access the treatments and discoveries that give them hope, wherever they live.
Thank you, ASCO, for creating a community where we can connect, learn, contribute, and turn our commitment to patients into action.”
