Joanna Metzner-Sadurski, Medical Doctor at Self Regional Healthcare and Executive Director of Oncology101.org, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Clinical Trials: JJ Singleton story is powerful.
A rural patient – driving 5 hours for care. Enduring many treatments and hospital admissions.
He was 27 when diagnosed. Cancer doesn’t wait. It doesn’t follow timelines. Clinical trials saved his life. Now he’s giving back- traveling from North Carolina to Minnesota to share his story and advocate for others. That’s selfless.
His message:
- The ‘guinea pig’ mindset will not get you anywhere
- You may only get one shot at a cure
- For some patients, that chance is a clinical trial
We need to make sure they are aware og CT and they have access to them. Because cancer doesn’t care where you live. And it doesn’t care how old you are.
JJ Singleton Thank you for sharing your story!”
