He and his team collaborated with researchers, industry and patients to bring game-changing policies, procedures and, most critically, new treatments that not only saved and improved countless lives, but also made the United States the global leader in cancer detection and drug innovation – a position we need to maintain.
A who’s who in the oncology field from regulators to manufacturers to advocates to academic institutions and medical centers packed into Ellen’s Watergate home to pay their respects to a living legend and hear about what he sees as the next chapter for cancer research.
And development in general and what he plans to do specifically to stay at the forefront as a private sector advocate, advisor and sage to all parts of this ecosystem to accelerate more broadly available and effective ways to prevent, detect and treat cancer.
