“Wonderful to meet with Keith McGregor, CEO of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) at the ESMO headquarters in beautiful Lugano.
I am very grateful for ESMO’s ongoing support of oncologists across the Asia-Pacific region, including partnership with Medical Oncology Group of Australia to deliver ACORD26 protocol development and clinical trials training, international congresses, educational initiatives and leadership development.
ACORD is one of the few mature clinical trial development platforms in the Asia-Pacific region. With ESMO’s support, it has the potential to further strengthen regional capability in trial design, drug development and clinical research capacity particularly for emerging leaders from LMIC regions.
It was inspiring to discuss how we can continue building bridges between Europe and Asia-Pacific to support the next generation of oncology leaders and improve access to high-quality cancer education, research and clinical trial capability.
