Jia (Jenny) Liu, Translational Lead of Early Phase Drug Development at The Kinghorn Cancer Centre, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Twenty years ago, I was a first-year medical student starting the long journey toward becoming a cancer specialist.
Tonight, I had the privilege of joining colleagues and friends at the 20-year anniversary of the Cancer Institute NSW Awards in a room full of people I’ve collaborated with across two decades, spanning cancer care, supportive care, clinical trials, proteomics, and early phase drug development.
It reminded me how lucky I am to work in a state where cancer research is genuinely valued across the whole sector from clinicians and scientists to policy teams and patient advocates.
Congratulations to this year’s award recipients, especially:
-  Abhijit Pal – Equity Award
-  Liverpool Hospital – Clinical Trials Unit of the Year
-  InesDaSilva – Mid-Career Researcher Award
-  Eric Yeung – Consumer Engagement Award CanRevive Inc. President
The progress over the past 20 years has been remarkable. And yet, there is still so much to do to improve outcomes for the patients we serve.
Proud to be part of this community and excited for what the next decade of discovery, collaboration, and patient-centred innovation will bring.”
