“It’s been a whirlwind of a month for our family. A diagnosis of stage 4 metastatic bowel cancer was not part of my plans for the year, but here we are on my 3rd round of chemo. We’ve moved home to the Central Coast to have support from family while this is all going on.
Doing well so far, but it’s been tough on us all. I had none of the classic bowel cancer symptoms before I was diagnosed. But bowel cancer is becoming more and more common in young people. This is one of the reasons why screening is so important.
If you are under 45, you can purchase a bowel screen test here.
If you are over 45, you can request from your GP or order online here.
Please also check that you are up to date with your screening for cervical, breast and lung cancer, details here.
Screening is important, and I’d much rather that no one else has to go through this.”
