Jennifer Welsh: A Fascinating ASCO 2026 Conversation on AI and Multiple Myeloma

Jennifer Welsh, Owner at WelshLee Creative, LLC, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“One of the most fascinating conversations I had while covering ASCO 2026 wasn’t actually about AI… and obviously… cancer biology.

Researchers, including Arjun Raj Rajanna and Dr. C. Ola Landgren at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, used artificial intelligence to analyze routine bone marrow biopsy slides and identify immune features associated with treatment response in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma.

What I found most interesting is that the goal isn’t simply to automate pathology. The hope is that AI can uncover biologic signals that aren’t visible to the human eye and help physicians match patients to the treatments most likely to benefit them.

We’re still in the early stages, but this could be a really interesting direction for precision medicine.”
