Jeff Legos, Chief Oncology Officer at Pfizer, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Together with my Pfizer colleagues, I recently had the opportunity to volunteer at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge in New York City, serving dinner to people living with cancer and their caregivers.
We were there to help with a simple meal. But what we experienced was so much more. Patients and their families sat down with us and openly shared their stories: where they were from, how far they’d traveled, and what the last few months had looked like as they navigated treatment.
I work in oncology because I believe we can change outcomes for patients. Evenings like this remind me that outcomes aren’t only clinical. Showing up, listening, being present and supporting all aspects of the patient experience – these are the moments that matter most.
Thank you to my Pfizer colleagues for joining me, and to the American Cancer Society and the many who volunteer their time and energy each day to supporting those impacted by cancer.”
