”The Department of Lymphoma and Sarcoma at the National Cancer Centre Singapore cares for over two-thirds of the affected Singaporean population every year for treatment of blood cancers such as lymphomas as well as skin cancers, sarcomas, and other rare cancers. Yesterday, we celebrated our collective success as a team over a cosy lunch and sent our appreciation to our amazing inaugural team leader.
Today, our department leads the field in rarecancer and skincancer management nationally, tackling difficult conditions such as sarcoma and melanoma, through our comprehensive clinical SPARCC and research STARLIGHT programs. In lymphoma care, the team has built international recognition for Asian-prevalent lymphoma research and treatment, particularly on T-cell and NK/T-cell lymphomas. We are also privileged to contribute to the nationally-funded Singapore Lymphoma Study SYMPHONY helmed by Soon Thye LIM and Choon Kiat Ong.
Alongside these are our AYAO program advancing young adult cancer care and research, cancergenetics program tackling complex hereditary conditions, as well as our celltherapy program bringing novel therapies and clinical trials to our patients.
I am humbled to be entrusted with leading this remarkable team at an important inflection point. Our next chapter will be about building on these strong foundations – maintaining the highest standards of clinical care and research, growing our people and partnerships, and continuing to push ourselves to deliver better outcomes for our patients.
Onwards and upwards, together!”
