Jasna But Hadzic: Transforming Cancer Guidelines into Measurable Improvements in Clinical Care

Jasna But Hadzic, Head of Department of Oncology at Faculty of Medicine University of Ljubljana and Radiation oncologist at Institute of Oncology shared on LinkedIn:

“Two very productive days in Ljubljana with the EUnetCCC Guidelines Core Group.
It was a real pleasure to welcome colleagues from across Europe to the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana for EUnetCCC WP8.2.1 Guidelines meeting on 17–18 September.

Over two intensive days, we discussed how to move from guideline development towards their effective implementation and evaluation in clinical practice.

Our discussions focused particularly on collaboration with medical societies, quality indicators, patient involvement, and the further development of the Guideline Exchange Program. These are key elements if we want clinical guidelines not only to be developed, but also to be translated into measurable improvements in cancer care across Europe.

I particularly appreciated the open discussions, different perspectives and very concrete work on the next steps. Meetings like this show the value of bringing together

  • cancer centers,
  • professional organizations
  • patient representatives

around a common goal. A special thank you to Claes Jönsson for leading the Core Group and guiding us through these two productive days, and to Johanna Höstner for the excellent coordination of the meeting.Jasna But Hadzic: Transforming Cancer Guidelines into Measurable Improvements in Clinical Care

Cátia Faustino, Amanda Dahlholm, Diego Serraino, Helena Brändström, Kim Tiede, Kristina Olausson, Lina Gifting, Nina Adolfsen, Peter Naredi, Roy Aleksander Farstad, Soledad Gallego Melcon.

Thank you to everyone at the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana who helped us organize and host the meeting.
Looking forward to continuing the work together!”
