Janet Dorling: New Advances in mTNBC Signal a Pivotal Moment in Cancer Care

Janet Dorling, Senior Vice President, U.S. Commercial at Gilead Sciences, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Returning to ASCO this year has been such an exciting opportunity.

When I first joined Gilead Sciences, we were just starting to build our oncology portfolio to complement Kite Pharma’s leadership in cell therapy – with an ambition to become a top 10 oncology company by 2030. Now, as I return to ASCO26, it is amazing to see first-hand the innovation and impact Gilead and Kite are making across tumor types, modalities and most of all, the patients we serve.

Over the past few days, I had the opportunity to speak with oncologists, advocates and patients on the scientific progress being made, the challenges that remain, and the importance of keeping patients at the center of our work.

One clear theme emerged: urgency. Too many patients are still progressing. Oncologists need tools to act earlier and ensure innovative therapies reach patients when it can make the greatest difference.

Encouragingly, we are at a pivotal moment. Advances in science and recent data in metastatic triple-negative breast cancer (mTNBC) are reshaping the treatment landscape, offering new options in earlier lines that have the potential to improve outcomes for patients who need them most, sooner.

Thank you to the researchers, the patients and the advocates who continue to work tirelessly to advance treatment options for people living with cancer. Progress will take all of us working together to turn innovation into real impact.”
