Janet Abrahm: In My Experience, Methadone is Sometimes the Treatment That Should be Considered First

Janet Abrahm, Institute Physician at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Methadone is often treated as a last resort in cancer pain management. In my experience, it is sometimes the treatment that should be considered first. In this month’s edition of my newsletter, “And What Else…?”  I focus on why methadone can be such an effective option for patients with certain types of neuropathic pain, along with practical considerations for using it safely.

I’m also pleased to share that the newsletter has a new home on Substack, which will make it easier to read, share, and subscribe going forward. You can read the latest issue and subscribe here
