Jamie Whalley, Senior Health and Safety Coordinator at Rendall and Rittner, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Many of my LinkedIn contacts won’t know that I’ve been a line dancer for over 30 years. A very close friend of mine from the line dance world, Steve Healy, sadly passed away last May, on his 53rd birthday. He had previously battled skin cancer which had been in remission for 11 years, but it returned aggressively in 2024, and, after secondary spread, he was gone within 9 months. Steve was dance editor of Linedancer Magazine and ambassador of our industry charity, the Line Dance Foundation (LDF).
On Saturday 9 May, I’ll be taking part in a “Dance till Dawn” challenge with a few hundred others. It’s a 12-hour danceathon (5pm–5am) in aid of the LDF and Cancer Research UK (CRUK). We’ll all be dancing in memory of Steve, on the first anniversary of his passing and his 54th birthday.
I’ve set up a fundraiser here (over £500 raised so far)
If anyone would be so kind as to sponsor me, anything you can give is greatly appreciated and received with thanks (if you can’t use Facebook and would like to sponsor me, drop me a DM).”
