Jamie Burhani Cairo, Director Of Program Development – Cancer Services at Advocate Aurora Cancer Care, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Tonight is one of my favorite nights of the summer as our Team Phoenix athletes gather at Milwaukees lakefront to practice their full distance run. With the triathlon now just a few weeks away, the energy, excitement and determination are palpable.
These incredible cancer survivors continue to inspire all of us by taking on a challenge that many would consider impossible. Their resilience, strength and commitment are truly remarkable.
It is both an honor and a privilege to stand beside program director Ilka Hoffins, Medical Director Michael Mullane, Co-founder and motivational guru Leslie J. Waltke, PT, DPT, and Coach’s Kim Kelley, Dawn Gruber and Kelly Grady and all of the alumni and volunteers who make this life changing experience happen year after year. I can’t wait to see them cross that finish line! SPAR!”
To which Ruben Mesa, President of Cancer National Service Line at Advocate Health, and President of Atrium Health Levine Cancer, added:
“What an amazing and inspirational program!
Excited to watch Team Phoenix this Thursday for the swim training!”
