JAMA Oncology shared a post on LinkedIn:
“In a large multicenter retrospective cohort study, males aged 9 to 26 years who received at least one dose of the 9-valent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine demonstrated a lower risk of composite HPV Related Cancers—including head and neck, esophageal, anal, and penile cancers—compared with unvaccinated males.
The association persisted across both adolescent (9-14 years) and young adult (15-26 years) groups, supporting the benefit of sex-neutral HPV vaccination strategies for reducing cancer burden in males.”
Amy C. Moore, Director of Patient Engagement and Advocacy at Summit Therapeutics, Inc., shared a post by JAMA Oncology, adding:
“As the mom of two teens (male and female), I am grateful to be able to protect them against a variety of HPV-driven cancers!”
