Isabelle Villadary: Zero Treatment Abandonment is a Fact, Not a Dream Anymore

Isabelle Villadary, Head of Childhood Cancer and Les Grandes Causes France at Foundation, shared a post by CANCaRe Africa on LinkedIn, adding:

CANCaRe Africa empowers Families of children with cancer through cash donations, allowing them to pursue their role of parents
We unite our efforts with the dream to claim as soon as possible, ‘ Zero Treatment Abandonment is a fact not a dream anymore.'”

Quoting CANCaRe Africa‘s post:

My Child Matters program is dedicated to transforming paediatric cancer care in low- and middle-income countries. Through its various initiatives, the program has helped ensure that many children are able to complete their treatment.

One impactful initiative is the Home Away From Home Initiative, implemented in collaboration with Childhood Cancer International, which has helped numerous families overcome accommodation challenges while their children undergo treatment.

By easing this burden, families can focus on what matters most: their child’s recovery.

CANCaRe Africa’s Zero Abandonment Program is also a proud beneficiary of the My Child Matters program. This project is dedicated to reducing treatment abandonment rates across Sub-Saharan Africa, ensuring that children diagnosed with cancer continue and complete their life-saving treatment.

Meet Isabelle Villadary, Childhood Cancer Program Senior Director. In one of our recent interactions, she shared insightful reflections on the importance and impact of this work.

‘Delivering chemotherapy or surgery alone will never save a child with cancer whose family faces financial devastation. The Zero Abandonment Program is unique, it builds a continuum between care and socioeconomic support, breaking boundaries and empowering families with the means to actively contribute to their child’s survival.'”
