Isabel Mestres: I Recently Contributed with an Op-Ed to Resolve Global Health’s New Report
Isabel Mestres, CEO of the City Cancer Challenge (C/Can), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I’m happy to share that I recently contributed with an op-ed to Resolve Global Health’s new report, Reflecting Reality: A closer look at women and non-communicable diseases.
NCDs remain one of the leading causes of death for women worldwide, yet they are still too often underfunded, underdiagnosed, and underserved, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.
In my op-ed, I explain why ensuring equitable access to quality cancer care for women begins in our cities. Whether it’s Kumasi or Phnom Penh, local action truly drives systemic change. Thanks to the insights from C/Can’s Regional Directors, Sophie Bussmann-Kemdjo, Chika Kitajima, and Maria F Navarro, we get three unique perspectives, each highlighting the real challenges women encounter and how the City Cancer Challenge (C/Can) is actively bringing our Women and Health strategy to life with solutions tailored to each context.
Timely diagnosis, equitable treatment, and inclusive care should not be the exception, but the norm.
You can read my op-ed here.
And explore the full report here.”
