International Cancer Institute is soon launching the CPN100 Patient-Centered Oncology Navigation Training Program.
Oncology patient-centered navigation is an evidence-based model of care in which trained professionals – such as oncology nurses, clinicians, and social workers – guide patients and their families through every stage of the cancer journey.
The curriculum covers:
- Foundations of oncology and cancer care
- Patient-centered assessment and care coordination
- Therapeutic communication and patient education
- Symptom management and supportive care
- Psychosocial oncology
- Navigation across the cancer care continuum
- Ethics and professionalism
- Leadership, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary teamwork
