“It was an immense honor to take part in the Community Oncology Global Congress 2026 (COGC) — a milestone I won’t forget in my professional journey. I wore three hats on the same day: speaker, moderator, and chair of the session ‘Building Cancer Care Where the System Isn’t Built Yet: What Actually Works Across Africa and the Middle East?’
Presenting my work on improving access to essential cancer services, then moderating a discussion with colleagues from Kenya, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and beyond, on real models already working across Africa and the Middle East —task-shifting, regional networks, national strategies — was deeply rewarding. Opportunities to bring Algeria’s voice to an international stage, and to actively help shape the conversation rather than simply attend it, don’t come along every day.
