”48 hours from suspicion of cancer to diagnosis.
A patient presented to my clinic with persistent fever and generalized lymphadenopathy after spending more than a week in another hospital without a clear diagnosis.
At Burjeel Cancer Institute | BCI , this was the timeline:
Day 1
- 10:00 AM – Seen in clinic, full history, examination, and blood work completed
- 1:00 PM – Comprehensive CT scan performed , decision excisional biopsy is needed for diagnosis
- 4:00 PM – Anesthesia clearance completed
- 9:00 PM – Excisional lymph node biopsy performed + flow
Day 2
- 3:00 PM – Pathology confirmed Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) in less than 24 hours
- 4:00 PM – Bone marrow biopsy completed
- 8:00 PM – Flow cytometry confirmed bone marrow involvement
Day 3

This is what cancer care should look like: fast, precise, coordinated, and evidence-based.
At Burjeel Cancer Institute | BCI , speed does not compromise quality – it improves outcomes. From first consultation to diagnosis, staging, and treatment initiation in just days, this reflects the commitment of a world-class team working with urgency and excellence.
To my knowledge, this is among the fastest comprehensive oncology workflows in the MENA region, if not the fastest.
Because in cancer care, time matters.
Kudos to the entire team including our nursing team , for their dedication and working extra after hours to save lives.
