Hilde Wolzak, Medical Oncologist at Cancer Survivorship & Supportive Cancer Care Clinic NZ, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Whole Person Cancer Care and Lifestyle Oncology does not solely benefit cancer patients and cancer survivors; it also potentially reduces burnout in oncologists.
“Now is the moment for collective leadership. Integrating empowerment training into oncology fellowships, ASCO educational offerings, and continuing medical education can build clinician capacities that reflect the future of cancer care. Partnerships with psycho-oncology, survivorship, lifestyle medicine, and communication science can support rigorous, evidence-based curricula. These initiatives do not impose attitudes or add burden; they realign clinicians with the stability required for clarity, empathy, and purposeful action.””
