“It was a true pleasure to host the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) –Â Egyptian Cancer Society (ECS) (HCC session) during the 12th Ain Shams University Clinical Oncology Department Conference on 21 November 2025.
With over 600 attendees in person and via the ECS livestream, the session was an outstanding success and a testament to the growing commitment to liver cancer education in Egypt and the ongoing collaboration between ASCO and ECS.
We began by outlining the current HCC landscape in Egypt, followed by an exceptional lecture from Prof. Ghassan Abou-Alfa, who delivered the latest updates on systemic treatment options for HCC. The session concluded with dynamic and insightful case discussions featuring Dr. Danny Yakoub, Dr. Christopher Crane, and Prof. Ghassan Abou-Alfa, who generously engaged with audience questions and shared invaluable perspectives.
A heartfelt thank you to ASCO for their continuous support – especially Dr. Julie Gralow, who always champions education and training, as well as Sarah Bachmann, Jessica Williams, and Douglas Pyle for their dedication, coordination, and unwavering efforts in making this session possible.
