Hesham ElGhazaly: Genuinely Happy to Be Invited to the KHCC Research Awards Ceremony

Hesham ElGhazaly, Elected President of the Executive Board at Egyptian Cancer Society, Professor of Clinical Oncology at Ain Shams University, and the Founder and CEO of Alfa Cure Oncology Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I was genuinely happy to be invited to the KHCC Research Awards Ceremony on 14 November 2025, held under the patronage of HM King Abdullah II and HM Queen Rania Al Abdullah and deputized by HRH Prince Talal bin Muhammad, with the esteemed attendance of HRH Princess Ghida Talal.

My heartfelt thanks to Dr. Asem Mansour, Dr. Amal El Omari, and Dr. Hikmat Abdel El Razik for the kind invitation and excellent organization. and glad I met HRH Prince Khalid bin Jabor, Dr. Humaid El Shamsi, Dr. Shouki Bazarbashi, Dr. Navid Madani, Clement Chauvet, and all colleagues. It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect and celebrate regional achievements in research, and enjoy such a warm welcome and inspiring atmosphere.

In her remarks, HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of KHCF and KHCC, reflected on the journey of the King Hussein Cancer Research Award since its launch five years ago – an initiative born from a dream to see the Arab world firmly represented in global scientific research. She highlighted how this vision is becoming a reality through the dedication of exceptional Arab scientists, transforming the aspiration of global engagement into a powerful regional movement.

I was especially thrilled to witness Egyptian physician Dr. Mina Sedrak, from the University of California’s Johnson Comprehensive Cancer Center, win the Emerging Researcher – International Track – a proud moment that reflects the growing global impact of Egyptian researchers.

Over the past five years, the award has advanced cancer research as a regional priority, bringing together nearly 900 researchers from around the world and supporting innovative projects led by talented early-career investigators.

Truly grateful to have been part of such an inspiring celebration of science and excellence, and looking forward to seeing even more breakthroughs and progress in research across our region.”
