Helena Linardou, Director of the 4th Oncology Department and Clinical Trials Center at Metropolitan Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Three inspiring days at the 1st Annual Congress of ESAC – European Interdisciplinary Society of AI for Cancer Research in Milan!
As a proud member of ESAC’s Steering Committee I was thrilled to see not only how fast the field is evolving, but how quickly this community is growing- interdisciplinary, patient-centered, responsible, open to forward-thinking and truly committed to meaningful clinical impact.
We enjoyed a very different event, filled with science, discussion, collaboration, innovation, and a shared vision for the future of AI in oncology. It felt like the beginning of a strong European movement bringing together clinicians, researchers, data scientists, and patients to shape together how AI will be the infrastucture of cancer care.
Grateful to everyone who contributed to such an open, warm, and forward-looking atmosphere, warm thanks and congratulations to my dearest friends Arsela Prelaj for her exceptional organisation and presence and Jakob Nikolas Kather, our ESAC presidents, for an unprecedented event! And our warmest thanks to the tireless Giovanni Scoazec and Narmin Ghaffari Laleh: nothing would have been possible without you, you are the heart and soul of ESAC, the driving force behind everything we do!
Co-chairing the ethics and patient-centered session with my amazing friends Marina Chiara Garassino and Alessandra Pedrocchi was a true privilege!
Had also the chance to see so many friends from all over the world joining and some strong greek presence in the program and in the audience: Evangelia Christodoulou, Konstantinos Zormpas-Petridis – great to see you both! and our own, Nikos Koufos with a great lecture on how AI is supporting and innovating interventional pneumonology!
Safe travels everyone and see you soon!
Save the dates for the AI Summer school in Corfu, 3-7 September 2026, spread the word and register!
Also if you are not a ESAC member yet, please join this amazing community today!”
