Ioana Stoenescu: Health System Dialogues Brought Together the Ecosystem We Need for Real Impact

Ioana Stoenescu, Head of External Affairs, Market Access and Reputation at Roche, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“This week, Health System Dialogues brought together the ecosystem we need for real impact: policymakers, the medical community, and industry aligning on best practices and implementation strategies. This inspiring event was organized at the invitation of Prof. Darin Mureșanu and Prof. Dragos Vinereanu, whose dedication to systemic healthcare continues to guide our collective efforts.

With Romania now among the countries that have formally approved a National Strategy for Combating Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases 2025–2030, the conversation felt especially timely. Strategies are only as strong as their execution, and execution thrives when public–private partnerships move from concept to action.

It was an honor to have with us His Excellency Ambassador Massimo Baggi, the Embassy of Switzerland in Romania and CCE-R | Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Romania through its President Dr. Adriana Cioca, M.A. MBA, a partner committed to mature dialogue and capacity-building in healthcare.

I am grateful to have colleagues contributing to the dialogues with their insights: Oliver Bleck, Sven Miller and Maxime Maignan, emphasizing the societal value of innovation across the patient journey and the critical role of prevention and early diagnosis in building sustainable, patient-centered care; and Dr. Sandra Zimmermann from the WifOR Institute complemented these perspectives with evidence on the societal impact of innovation, showing how data-driven approaches and cross-sector collaboration translate into tangible benefits for health systems and patients alike.

One of the intellectual highlights was Prof. Dodo Sandesc’s reflection on medical diplomacy – how health can serve as a bridge between nations, sectors, and sometimes even divergent interests. In many ways, Health System Dialogues itself is an act of medical diplomacy: creating a neutral space where evidence, experience, and goodwill can meet to shape systems that work better for patients.

Events like this remind me that while policies set direction, it is collaboration that moves systems forward – quietly, steadily, and with purpose. Grateful to everyone who contributed to this meaningful exchange. The work ahead is complex, but the commitment I witnessed gives me confidence that we are moving in the right direction.”
