“Celebrating 25 Years of Excellence in Sarcoma Care – Tübingen University Hospital and Comprehensive Cancer Center Tübingen-Stuttgart.
Today, I have the pleasure of attending the Anniversary Symposium on interdisciplinary therapies for bone and soft tissue sarcomas at Tübingen University Hospital – a truly inspiring event bringing together expertise across surgery, oncology, orthopedics, and radiation oncology.
What stands out most to me is the outstanding presentation by my mentor and colleague, Dr Frank Paulsen from the Radiation Oncology Tübingen, on: Radiotherapy, Interventional Radiotherapy (Brachytherapy), and Hyperthermia in Sarcoma Treatment
His talk highlights the evolving role of combined modality treatment, where radiotherapy—including brachytherapy—together with hyperthermia can significantly enhance tumor control, especially in challenging and recurrent sarcoma cases. It is a powerful reminder of how innovation and experience come together to improve patient outcomes.
Beyond the science, it is personally meaningful to see a mentor and colleague who has shaped my professional path continue to inspire with such clarity, depth, and clinical vision.
Congratulations to the Sarcoma Center (ZWS) Tübingen on 25 years of outstanding interdisciplinary care and research.
And thank you to all colleagues contributing to such a rich and practice-oriented program.
Events like this remind us that progress in oncology is always a team effort—built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.”
