Surgical preference cards are an often-overlooked opportunity to reduce unnecessary waste and cost.
Supplies that are routinely opened but never used add up, both financially and environmentally.
I’ve always believed that excellent surgical care should also include thoughtful stewardship of our resources. Initiatives that reduce unnecessary OR waste while maintaining patient safety are a win for our patients, hospitals, and communities.
