Hartwig Medical Foundation shared a post on LinkedIn:
“‘Identifying patients who will not benefit from a treatment is just as important as identifying those who will. These non-responder biomarkers have direct value: they could spare patients needless toxicity and help redirect them to trials or alternative strategies more likely to help.” — Edwin Cuppen, Scientific Director of Hartwig Medical Foundation
Proud to share a groundbreaking new study published in ESMO Real World Data and Digital Oncology, born from a collaboration between the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) and Hartwig Medical Foundation.
By systematically mining the Hartwig Medical database researchers have uncovered critical genomic signals that predict non-response to specific cancer therapies. The ultimate goal? To protect patients from ineffective treatments and rapidly redirect them to alternatives that actually stand a chance.
By analyzing whole-genome and transcriptome sequencing data from more than 7,000 genomes within our database, the research team evaluated 56 treatment cohorts to spot the biomarkers of non-response.
