“We are proud to announce the successful launch of the National Theranostic Training program, which officially commenced at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral & Research Hospital (KUTRRH) on 10th November 2025.

The opening ceremony was graced by Dr. Zeinab Gura, CEO of KUTRRH, Dr. Kariuki, CEO of KMPDC, Dr. Toro, representing the Principal Secretary for Medical Services, and Dr. Frank Sawanga, Dep. Director in state department for science, research, and innovation.

The event brought together participants from leading institutions offering Nuclear Medicine services across Kenya.

This specialized training is supported by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the Oncidium foundation which focuses on cutting-edge theranostic applications using Lutetium-177 PSMA for prostate cancer and Lutetium-177 Dotatate for neuroendocrine tumors.

This marks a historic milestone, the first theranostic training program conducted in a public facility in East and Sub-Saharan Africa underscoring Kenya’s growing leadership in cancer care, Nuclear medicine, and Precision oncology.

A heartfelt thank you to all partners, facilitators, and participants for their commitment to advancing patient-centered innovation and capacity building in the region.”
