Hansel Tookes’ IDEA Exchange Shapes HIV Prevention in Florida – University of Miami Miller School of Medicine

“Florida’s approach to HIV prevention shifted in 2016 when IDEA enabled the University of Miami to establish the state’s first needle exchange program.

Thanks to the advocacy of Hansel Tookes, M.D. ’14, M.P.H. ’09, the IDEA Exchange now stands as a statewide model for compassionate, evidence-based harm reduction.
