Hannatu Ayuba: Honored to Receive the LPWO Certificate

Hannatu Ayuba, Consultant Radiation and Clinical Oncologist at National Hospital Abuja, shared on LinkedIn:

A Certificate of Learning. A Journey of Leadership. A Renewed Commitment to Impact.

I am deeply grateful and honored to receive my certificate from the American Societyfor Clinical Oncology ASCO City Cancer Challenge Foundation Leadership Program for Women in Oncology (LPWO).

For me, this is more than a certificate. It represents a journey of growth, courage, learning, connection and purpose.

Working in oncology has taught me that leadership is not merely about what we achieve individually. It is about who we bring along, whose voices we amplify, whose barriers we remove, and how many lives we can positively influence.

My journey in cancer care and advocacy has continued to strengthen my conviction that where a person lives should never determine whether they have access to quality cancer care.

From cancer awareness and prevention, to early detection, patient navigation, multidisciplinary care and now working towards expanding access to specialist cancer care through innovative models such as the TeleOncology Hub, the goal remains the same:

  • To bridge the cancer care divide.
  • To strengthen health systems.
  • To empower communities.

And to ensure that no cancer patient is left behind.

The LPWO experience has reminded me that women in oncology have a powerful role to play in shaping the future of cancer care – not only as clinicians, but as leaders, advocates, innovators, mentors and system changers.

I am grateful to the faculty, mentors, colleagues and the incredible community of women leaders who made this experience so meaningful. These program gave us great Friends , Teachers, Enablers, Colleagues and Mentors!

I receive this certificate with gratitude for the journey, humility for the responsibility, and renewed determination for the work ahead.

Because leadership is not the destination.

Leadership is the responsibility to create change that outlives us.

Thank you Dalila Vidallé for the ‘Messi’ Jerseys, Rosario 300! It made our home agog with Excitement!”
