Hannatu Ayuba, Consultant Radiation and Clinical Oncologist at National Hospital Abuja, shared on LinkedIn:
“I am honoured to share that I, Dr Hannatu Ayuba, will be serving as the Moderator for an important session at the OncoDaily Community Oncology Global Congress 2026.
Community Oncology in Action: Successful Initiatives from Around the World
Date: Sunday, August 30, 2026
18:00–18:45 CEST
17:00–17:45 WAT (Nigeria)
This session will feature inspiring implementation spotlights and a moderated discussion exploring how successful community oncology initiatives are being developed and implemented across different health systems.
I am particularly looking forward to engaging with distinguished faculty, including:
- Prof. Amitabh Ray, Professor and In-Charge, Radiation Oncology, Chittaranjan National Cancer Institute (CNCI), New Town Campus, Kolkata, India, who will share insights on Scaling Innovation in Community Oncology.
- Prof. Parvez Alam, a Surgical Oncology professional with expertise in Head and Neck/Maxillofacial oncology, who will explore Building a Successful Community Oncology Programme.
As the CEO of Cancer Consciousness initiative (CCI) and Program Lead of the hashtag#TeleOncologyHub, this conversation resonates deeply with my work and passion for bringing cancer care closer to communities and reducing disparities in access to specialist oncology services.
The discussion will explore critical questions around:
- Identifying the problems community oncology initiatives are designed to solve
- Overcoming real-world implementation challenges
- Building sustainable programmes with available resources
- Adapting successful models across countries and health systems
- Learning from experience and understanding what we would do differently
Community oncology is about taking cancer care beyond traditional centres and ensuring that where a person lives does not determine whether they can access quality cancer care.
I look forward to a rich global conversation, shared learning, and practical insights that can help strengthen cancer care in underserved communities around the world.
Thank you to OncoDaily for the opportunity and for creating a platform that brings together oncology professionals, innovators, and advocates committed to advancing equitable cancer care globally.
I look forward to moderating this important conversation!”
