“How Digital Health Will Impact Global Health in 2026
A recent series in The Lancet Global Health discusses a powerful framework for digital health impact for building digital capabilities rather than focusing only in AI tools:
- Supply chains: Logistics management systems improve inventory visibility, and strengthen supply resilience.
- Clinical quality: Decision-support tools, alerts, and telemedicine platforms
- From data to action: EMRs, registries, and HMIS transform fragmented data into operational intelligence.
- Continuity of care: Person-centred communication and longitudinal tracking.
I believe that digital health interventions work best not as standalone solutions, but as infrastucture capabilities into health systems. Looking foward to 2026, to see real implementations of digital ecosystems supporting global health.
