“One day before my birthday, I share with you, with profound gratitude, news that represents both a new commitment and a great responsibility for me: I have been invited to join, as a member, the International Committee of the European Cancer Organisation (ECO), based in Belgium.
With a history dating back to 1981, ECO brings together organisations, healthcare professionals, and patient representatives with the purpose of reducing the burden of cancer, improving outcomes and quality of care, and advancing public policies and positive change for the cancer community.
I am especially grateful to our President at ECO, Isabel T. Rubio, for her trust and for this invitation. It will be a true honour to work under her leadership over the next two years and to contribute experience, vision, and commitment from Mexico and Latin America to this international agenda.
I take on this new responsibility with the same discipline, perseverance, sense of responsibility, and commitment to service that I have sought to bring to every role throughout my career.
