“I was invited by Monterrey Institute of Technology to deliver the lecture ‘Right to Health: Building Effective Public Policies’, with special thanks to the School of Law and the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and to their students for their kind hospitality.
During the session, I shared with the attendees an integral vision of the challenges and progress surrounding the right to health, addressing, among others, the following topics:
• Historical evolution of human rights and the recognition of the right to health as a cornerstone of well-being and social equity.
• Key figures and historical milestones in the creation of international legal frameworks for the Right to Health.
• Effective work carried out by Cancer Warriors Foundation of Mexico in promoting and implementing health legislation and public policy.
• My role as Treasurer of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and the importance of strengthening global health partnerships.
• The challenges and opportunities to consolidate public health in Mexico through collaboration among government, the private sector, the medical and academic community, and civil society.
Thank you once again to all the students! Your enthusiasm and commitment to improving our social environment inspire me to continue this ongoing mission of social transformation. Let’s keep moving forward together!”
