Dr. Danielle Agnello on Real Co-Creation in Global Health – Global Health Otherwise

Global Health Otherwise shared a post on LinkedIn:

“What does it truly mean to include someone in a process designed to serve them?

Co-creation has become one of global health’s favourite words. But Dr. Danielle M. Agnello, a global health researcher at the University of Copenhagen, argues that most of what gets called co-creation is little more than theatre. A workshop here, a stakeholder consultation there, and suddenly a project claims to be participatory.

Agnello is building something harder and more honest. Through tools like the Co-Creation Method Selector and the PROSECO evaluation framework, she is forcing a field that loves the language of inclusion to actually earn it. Her work on the ground in Zanzibar shows what genuine shared decision-making can produce when it is designed with rigour and followed through with accountability.

She is not asking for inspiration. She is asking for standards.

In our latest Expert Voice feature, we sat down with Dr Danielle Agnello to find out why a workshop is never just a method.
