Global Colon Cancer Association shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Kevin Farrell-Akyildirim took one question to the street:
Do you know what biomarker testing is?
The answers were honest, and they were a wake-up call.
More than 60% of colorectal cancer patients start treatment before their biomarker test results come back, which means treatment decisions are being made without the full picture.
Biomarker testing tells you a tumor’s specific makeup. Results typically take 1 to 3 weeks, and they can unlock targeted therapies, clinical trial eligibility, and safer treatment plans.
The wait is not hesitation. It is precision.
