Giulia Madamombe, Lung Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist at Milton Keynes University Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Earlier this week I had the privilege of presenting our work at the 24th BTOG Annual Conference in Edinburgh.
Our project focuses on improving patient understanding and informed consent in lung cancer care through the use of visual chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment plans.
Lung cancer treatment pathways can be complex and overwhelming for patients. By introducing visual treatment plans, we aimed to simplify information, support clearer conversations and help patients feel more confident about their treatment decisions.
I was proud to lead this nurse-led initiative, which highlights the important role Clinical Nurse Specialists play in bridging complex clinical information and patient understanding.
Thank you to my colleagues Caroline Nyamazani and Dr Syed Azhar Rizvi for their collaboration and support on this project, and to the wider team at Milton Keynes University Hospital.
Grateful for the opportunity to share this work with colleagues across the oncology community.”
