Giovanni Melillo: Advancing the Shared Mission against GI Cancer in Brazil

Giovanni Melillo, Vice President – Immuno-oncology, Global Medical Affairs AstraZeneca, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Engaging visit to AstraZeneca Brazil

Honored to spend time in Brazil, meeting with leading clinicians and researchers to advance our shared mission against GI cancers.

In addition to connecting with AstraZeneca and colleagues on our GI strategy and local priorities, I had valuable discussions with key external experts at institutions including AC Camargo Cancer Center, ICESP (Cancer Institute of São Paulo State), and Albert Einstein Hospital. These conversations reinforced the importance of strong partnerships to speed the translation of science into patient benefit – across prevention, earlier diagnosis, and innovative treatment.
The depth of expertise and dedication across Brazil’s oncology community is truly inspiring. We’re committed to collaborating on high-quality evidence generation, strengthening clinical research networks, and ensuring that advances in GI oncology reach patients who need them.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to meet and share perspectives. I look forward to building on this momentum together.”
