“I’m honoured to share that I’ve been invited to speak at the LiveLung conference in North Carolina next week.
I live with lung cancer in Ireland diagnosed as an incidental finding over four years ago and since then I’ve made it my purpose to use my voice for others facing this disease. I founded Breathing Room, a peer support community for people affected by lung cancer, and I co-founded Ireland’s White Ribbon Campaign for Lung Cancer.
This invitation means a great deal. It’s a chance to build my skills as an advocate, learn from others doing this work, and bring that knowledge back to Ireland where I’ll keep pushing for the things I believe we urgently need: a national screening programme, dedicated awareness funding, and proper survivorship support for lung cancer patients.
Living with this disease doesn’t mean stepping back from life it means finding new ways to keep contributing. I’m grateful for the opportunity and looking forward to sharing what I learn.”
