Giannis Mountzios: ESMO Advanced Course on Early-Stage NSCLC

Giannis MOuntzios, Director of the 4th Oncology Department and Clinical Trials Unit at Henry Dunant Hospital Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Our country will have the privilege and pleasure of hosting, for the second consecutive year, the Advanced Course in Early-stage Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer organized by ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology, the most important scientific oncology organization in Europe.
Under the Presidency of Peters Solange, Professor of Oncology at the University of Lausanne and one of the leading key opinion leaders in lung cancer worldwide, of ‘our own’ Helena Linardou, Director of the 4th Oncology Clinic at Metropolitan Hospital and Chair of the Scientific Committee of the HeCOG-Hellenic Cooperative Oncology Group, and myself, this highly successful masterclass will take place on April 23–24, 2026, at the Radisson Blu Park Hotel, Athens.

It will bring together lung cancer specialists from across Europe and constitutes a scientific vote of confidence in our country.

Over the course of an intensive two-day program, we will thoroughly present all the latest data on potentially resectable lung cancer, neoadjuvant and perioperative immunotherapy and targeted therapies, the role of radiotherapy and antibody-drug conjugates—always with a focus on clinical trials and the future.

The faculty includes internationally renowned global experts in lung cancer from many European countries:

  • Anne-Marie Dingemans from the Netherlands
  • Corinne Faivre-Finn from the UK
  • Lizza Hendriks from the Netherlands
  • Keith Kerr from the UK
  • Jean Yannis Perentes from Switzerland
  • Arsela Prelaj from Italy
  • Martin Reck from Germany
  • Noemi Reguart from Spain
  • Jordi Remon from France

I invite all colleagues—especially medical oncologists in Greece and Cyprus, as well as those in the diaspora with a special interest in lung cancer—to register.

Deadline for submission of interest: March 18!!

We look forward to welcoming you to an educational two-day event full of exchange of views, scientific discussions, and constructive debates!”
