“How do we define a Line of Treatment (LoT) today in contemporary oncology?
How do we incorporate locoregional treatments like radiotherapy, RFA, surgery and other modalities into the LoT algorithm?
And finally how do dose modifications, discontinuations of one component of combo regimens and maintenance treatments affect the LoT?
So happy to see this massive effort orchestrated by ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology that started 3 years ago landing down with a practical guide defining line of treatment (LoT) published in Annals of Oncology.
Hope that this systematic and standardized approach will allow clinicians to speak a common language (including MDTs) and will clarify approvals/indications of anticancer treatments in clinical practice. I feel blessed to have been part of such a beautiful scientific journey, helping define LoT in thoracic malignancies.”
