“Turning Science into Hope: A Recognition That Celebrates Teamwork
During the Magna Grecia Awards Étoile 2025, I had the honor of receiving the award “for turning science into hope”.
This recognition is not a personal result but the result of the daily work of the Integrated Breast Center of the A. Gemelli University Hospital Foundation IRCCS, where every day we combine research, care and humanity to support the women who rely on us.
Among the other winners of the 2025 edition (in alphabetical order):
- Enrico Bellavia – journalist, for his courage in bringing to light the gray areas of the country with rigorous and incisive investigations.
- Imma Battaglia – activist for civil rights, for her constant commitment to the defense of the freedom to love and social inclusion.
- Bruno Brucoli – magistrate, recognized for having transformed justice into an act of concrete love towards the community.
- Camilla Mancini – writer, for having transformed bullying experiences into stories of redemption, awareness and personal growth.
- Francesco Schittulli – doctor and President of LILT, for having dedicated his life to saving lives, combining medicine, research and social mission.
- Cinzia TH Torrini – director, for her ability to tell the story of women with sensitivity, emotional depth and a unique poetic gaze.
- Luca Vigilante – entrepreneur, awarded for choosing the most difficult path: that of dignity, truth and civil responsibility.
