“This afternoon in the Johnston Cancer Research Center at Queen’s University Belfast we celebrated the phenomenal careers of two founding members of the Advanced Radiation Research Group, namely Prof Kevin Prise and Prof Alan Hounsell.
Though their leadership in radiobiology and medical physics they have trained a generation of scientists and researchers. During their time both the radiotherapy clinical service at Belfast Health and Social Care Trust and the associated translational research has been transformed thanks to their dedication and leadership.
Alan (alongside Joe O’Sullivan) was my PhD supervisor and Kevin my departmental chair as I started as a Senior Lecturer. I owe you both an immense debt of gratitude and wishing you both every happiness in your retirement.”
