“The New Standard: Exercise Just Raised Cancer Survival by 37%
The CHALLENGE Trial just delivered powerful news for oncology: Supervised aerobic exercise for II-III colon cancer patients led to a 37% improvement in Overall Survival and a 28% increase in Disease-Free Survival.
This moves exercise from a supportive measure to a core standard of care for cancer treatment.
Now, the focus must shift to implementation. We must define evidence-based oncology programs (led by professionals with expertise in exercise science and oncology) and urgently solve the hurdles of coverage, availability, and access to bring this critical benefit to every patient.
If Exercise Were a Pill, We’d All Prescribe It to Patients With Cancer. But It’s Not.”
