ACS CAN Has Updated Colorectal Cancer Screening Guidelines – GCCA

Global Colon Cancer Association (GCCA) shared a post on LinkedIn:

“More screening options mean more opportunities to save lives.

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) has updated its colorectal cancer screening guidelines, adding new blood-based and at-home stool testing options to help increase participation in screening.

Colonoscopy remains the gold standard, but the updated guidance recognizes an important reality: the best screening test is the one that gets done.

At GCCA, we support efforts that reduce barriers to screening and help people choose the option that works best for them. When more people get screened, more cancers can be found early, or even prevented altogether.

One in three eligible adults remain unscreened for colorectal cancer. Expanding access to evidence-based screening options is an important step toward closing that gap and reducing colorectal cancer deaths worldwide.”
