2-Day GBCI Implementation Workshop in Cali, Colombia – City Cancer Challenge

City Cancer Challenge (C/Can) shared a post on LinkedIn:

“In Cali, Colombia, C/Can recently convened a two-day Global Breast Cancer Initiative (GBCI) Implementation Workshop with the Ministry of Health, local hospitals, and global experts.

This work builds on Cali’s broader efforts to strengthen breast cancer diagnosis and reduce fragmentation across the system. With support from partners like ProPacífico, Siemens Healthineers, and the Secretaries of Health, the city is leading the way in creating a more efficient, patient-centred pathway for women.

In the workshop, we:

  • Reviewed national breast cancer policy goals and city-level data
  • Analysed patient pathways to identify barriers and opportunities
  • Worked through the GBCI pillars; early detection, diagnosis, treatment, and palliative care
  • Drafted a city-level action plan with measurable priorities for improvement

This is how C/Can ensures that city-driven action aligns with global frameworks: by turning evidence and collaboration into practical steps that strengthen health systems and deliver better outcomes for women. This is what Breast Cancer Awareness Month is about: turning awareness into action.”
