Fundación Aladina Hosts 1st Scientific and Care Symposium on Pediatric Oncology

Fundación Aladina, shared a post on Facebook:

At Fundación Aladina, we know that to continue improving the care of children and adolescents with cancer, it is essential to bring together knowledge, experience, and commitment.

That is why we held our 1st Scientific and Care Symposium at the Ortega-Marañón Foundation in Madrid, a meeting that brought together leading figures in pediatric oncology with the aim of promoting clinical excellence and comprehensive patient care.

We had the privilege of hosting Carlos Rodríguez-Galindo, Director of St. Jude Global and one of the most recognized voices in pediatric oncology worldwide, who shared an inspiring vision on future challenges and the importance of humanizing childhood cancer care.

The event also included a very special session dedicated to physicians supported by Aladina scholarships, who were able to train and share experiences alongside leading specialists. This was an opportunity to further strengthen young talent and support specialized medical training in pediatric oncology.

In the afternoon, healthcare professionals, researchers, patient associations, collaborators, donors, and media representatives took part in the roundtable discussion ‘Building the Pediatric Oncology Model We Want for Spain,’ moderated by Carlos Rodríguez-Galindo, with participation from Dr. Antonio Pérez, Dr. Adela Cañete, Dr. Irene Jiménez, Ishtar Espejo, and Anna Morales Ballús.

The day concluded with remarks from Paco Arango, President of Fundación Aladina, and the presentation of the Lorena Díez Awards and the Aladina Honor Award. Afterwards, all attendees shared a Spanish wine reception, serving as a closing moment of connection and celebration.

We would like to especially thank Mutual Médica, the official sponsor of this event, for making it possible and for sharing our commitment to research, education, and continuous improvement in childhood cancer care.

We continue working together with all professionals involved in this journey to build a future with more knowledge, more progress, and more hope for our Aladina children.”
